The safety and security of our students, families, and staff is of the utmost importance, and we are determined to continue to provide quality programming in a safe and welcoming environment.
As the Covid-19 status in Peel is constantly evolving, our protocols will be flexible and we will adapt to any changing situation. Beginning in September 2020, we are committed to take the following precautions to do our part in controlling the spread of this virus:
Sanitization and Cleaning
Hand sanitizing stations will be available at the front door and studio door for students to use upon entry and exit.
Classes will last 50 minutes allowing for all frequently touched surfaces (barres/mats/doorknobs etc) to be sanitized following every class, and to allow the exit of one class before the entry of the next
Facility Entry and Exit
Students will be dropped off by one parent and picked up at the facility door, which will be supervised by a staff member or volunteer. Students are asked to wear masks until inside of the dance studio. Parents of students under age 6 will be permitted to enter the facility and assist students with shoes etc. (masks must be worn by adults.) *Please note that if your young child is not able to use the rest room independently, you will be asked to wait in your car during the class in case your assistance is needed, as teachers will not enter the washrooms with students.* Parents of “Tots and Tutus” are welcome to stay with the child in class.
As weather permits, students are asked to leave jackets and personal belongings with their parents. Shoes are to be taken off and left at the front door. In inclement weather, jackets can be brought inside and will be separated and placed in the waiting room.
All parents of students under age 18, and students aged 18 and older will be required to sign a waiver before entering the facility. This waiver will require the declaration of any international travel, contact with COVID-19 positive patients, or any COVID-19 symptoms. Any student exhibiting symptoms will not be permitted to enter the facility. The waiver will be available at the facility door and will also be available for parents to print at home and submit with the student.
Chairs have been removed from the waiting area, and the change room will be temporarily closed to students.
While in Class
Floor markings will be used for younger students to ensure physical distancing.
Instructors will be required to wear masks when physical distancing is not possible (performing corrections, spotting etc.)
No shared props will be used in classes, and dance shoes will not be available to borrow.
Partner work and acro tricks requiring partners will not be performed for the immediate future.
Students are encouraged to bring personal yoga mats for floor work and stretching to reduce surface contact.
We appreciate your cooperation in these efforts to keep our studio and students safe. When dropping off and picking up your child, please be prompt, as classes will have a 10 minute transition period for changeover. Please ensure you are present at the facility entrance to sign the waiver (older students can provide a pre-signed waiver.)
We are currently closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Updates will be communicated to students and families via email. If you have not been receiving update emails, please check your junk mail and contact us to ensure your email on file is up to date. We hope to see you all in the studio soon!
We hope you and your families are coping during this difficult time. We very much miss seeing everyone at the studio and have our fingers crossed that we will get passed this soon.
Following today’s announcement by the Ontario Government that schools will remain closed until May the 4th, we will be following suit in order to fight the spread of the virus and abide by social distancing guidelines. We are obviously hoping that things will return to normal in May, and we can proceed with the final months. We will continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation and will make decisions on an ongoing basis.
As mentioned in our earlier email, April fees will not be charged, and March classes will either be made up or credited accordingly once we know the extent of this closure. If you have already paid for April, you will be refunded in total once we know how long this will last.
The previously scheduled Photo Day on May 3rd has been tentatively rescheduled for June 7th. Please mark this date on your calendars, and we will confirm closer to the date.
Stay safe and hang in! We will get through this!!
Dear Parents and Students,
I hope you are all well and staying safe during this very difficult time. We are sure that you are all as eager as we are to return to a sense of normality and routine… and of course, to return to dance!
As we’re sure you are aware, all non-essential businesses have been ordered to remain closed for at least two weeks. That takes us past our anticipated re-open date of April 5th. Like all other businesses and services, we are closely monitoring the situation, and will be better able to make decisions once we know how long this will last.
Please know we are thinking of you and your families, and miss seeing you all in the studio. Feel free to contact us via phone or email with any questions or concerns, and continue to check the website News page, Facebook, and Instagram for further updates.
To ensure the safety and security of our students and their families, we are currently closed. Please check our Facebook, Instagram, or the “News” page for further details
Where possible, an attempt will be made to make up missed classes at alternate times/add time to classes to ensure recital dances can progress. Where not possible, fees will be credited accordingly. These decisions will be finalized once we know the final extent of the closure. April fees will not be charged until this is confirmed.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please feel free to contact us via email or phone with any questions or concerns you may have.
Classes will not be held on Friday April 10th, Sunday April 12th, and Monday April 13th.
